Round Robin
A method for distributing work fairly to a number of people by giving an item to each person in turn, using an assigned order. Once each person has received an item, the process begins again with the first person until all items are distributed. Round robin is similar to a card game where the dealer hands a card to each player around a table until there are no more cards to hand out.
This process is frequently used in marketing and sales to distribute work to sales reps. This is common in lead routing, for example.
The process described here is "basic" round robin. There are also advanced round robin variations that can be used to optimize how work is distributed.
This is such an important process that we've built out a whole round robin knowledge base for sales teams.
